Foothills Humane Society has received a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation to pay the salary of a full time high school student summer intern for 2010. This position will provide assistance to Foothills during the very busy summer months when hundreds of homeless puppies and kittens come to Humane Societys animal shelter.

The summer intern will gain valuable job skills, working with Foothills staff and volunteers to care for the animals, locate the owners of stray animals, find homes for homeless animals, and assisting with the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and other animal welfare programs.

If you are interested in applying for the Polk County Community Foundation Internship at Foothills Humane Society, visit the FHS website at www.foothillshumanesociety.org or e-mail them at foothillshelter@windstream.net for an application package. Do not call or visit the shelter for an application.
