The public is invited to a drop-in “Welcome Reception” for James H. Hines Jr., the new health director for the Rutherford-Polk-McDowell Health District. The reception will be held at the Polk County Health Department at 161 Walker Street in Columbus on Tuesday, April 6 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
