Polk boys win track meet, Landrum second

The Polk County High mens track team scored in 16 of 18 events and placed first in five of them to win the 13-team Wolverine Co-Ed Classic meet it hosted last week.
The Wolverines finished with 125 points, followed by Landrum High in second place with 106 points.
Polk County was led by John Spencer Wolfe, who took first in the 400M, 800M and 1600M runs. Polk also got a first place finish in the 4×400 relay and from Bryan Lieberman in the pole vault.
Landrum was led by Tyler Logan who took first in the 100M and 200M, second in the triple jump and third in the high jump. Blake Mistretta gave Landrum first place points in the 300M hurdles.
Landrum also finished second in the womens competition, led by Samatha Waters, who finished second in both the 1600M and the 3200M and third in the 800M. The Lady Cardinals also finished first in the 4×800 relay.
