James Lewis Constance, 75, of 2677 Ozone Drive died March 19, 2010 at his home. He was the son of the late William Claude and Mary Alice Foster Constance and widower of Viola Summey Constance.

He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by a son, Johnny Constance and wife Stephanie of Tuxedo; two step daughters, Patricia Russell Emery of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Janie Hyder Williams of Hendersonville; a brother, J.C. Constance of Tryon; three sisters, Louise Reece of Easley, S.C., Lee Constance and Lois Constance, both of High Point, N.C.; three grandchildren, four step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Piney Grove Baptist Church. conducted by Rev. Henry Vegter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
