To the Editor:
On Tuesday, March 9, Ruth and Earl Foy, Lula Burrell and I visited a grand old lady by the name of Miss Anne Sevier. Even though she has ties with Landrum, she is now a resident of Rosecrest Assisted Living in Inman, S.C.
Miss Sevier was the English teacher at Tryon High School from 1935-1945, and afterward taught at Winthrop College for 37 years.
She is a remarkable woman with a brilliant mind and can recall people and events from years ago. Even though she is legally blind, she can even outwalk you.
It was such a joy to visit with her, and I hope that those who knew her will send her a card for her 103rd birthday which is March 16th.
