A Spartanburg County District 2 bus driver resigned her position this week after being arrested in Landrum on gun and drug charges.
Rhonda Chaney Pittman, 51, of Blackstock Road, Landrum was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone and dilaudid, according to reports.
Pittman was pulled over in her pickup truck on Feb. 19 near Highway 14 and Campbell Avenue.
Landrums drug dog, “Bruno,” was used in the arrest and he alerted officers to a scent near the trucks rear bumper.
Officers removed the spare tire from under the truck and found a .32 caliber pistol as well as a plastic bag with the drugs in it between the bed of the truck and a piece of steel.
It is reported that Pittman claims someone was trying to set her up.
