George Allen “Butch” Day, 54, passed away at his home in Tryon on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. George was the son of George Day and the late Phyllis Thompson Day.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer Beth and Patrick Cory Day, both from Charlotte, N.C., and one granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Debbie Cash (Larry) from Johnson City, Tenn., and Josie Day, Tryon. George had one niece, Samantha Cox, and one nephew, Jeremy Thompson.
George loved his family, his friends, music and nature. He was of the Christian faith. His wishes were to be cremated. An outdoor memorial service is planned for the Spring and will be announced in the Bulletin.
