Cherry Comyn Rogers

Cherry Comyn Rogers, 86, of Orange, Va., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at the Dogwood Village of Orange. Born March 25, 1923 in Canada, she was the daughter of the late George Willoughby and Edith Ethel Hore Hooper. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick Joseph Frederick Comyn; second husband, Charlton Rogers; and a brother, Michael Hooper. Mrs. Rogers was a doctor of veterinary medicine and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Orange.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by a daughter, Gillian Comyn Hope and husband Frank of Quinton, Va.; son, Patrick Michael Richard Comyn and wife Barbara of Madison, Va.; brother, Robin Hooper of Vancouver, Canada; sister, Rosemary Hawthorne of Victoria BC, Canada; grandchildren, Caroline Alaire Comyn and Daniel James Patrick Comyn, both of Madison, Va., and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service 1 p.m. Monday, March 1 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Orange, with Pastor Lin Hutton officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church fellowship hall.
The family of Mrs. Rogers wishes to thank the staff of Dogwood Village, Hospice of the Rapidan, and the St. Thomas Episcopal Church family for their acts of kindness during her illness.
