Polk Countys Josh Metcalf gets a pin in a match at home earlier this year. Metcalf earned a spot in the 2A state championship wrestling tournament after picking up an impressive win for the West Regional title Saturday. He won in the 215-pound class with a pin in the first round against Kris Haney of Pisgah. Joining him at the state championship tournament will be Polk Countys James Maxwell and Tyler Philpott. Maxwell finished third at 160 pounds and Philpott was fourth among heavyweights. The 2A West Regional tournament was held in Lincolnton. (photo by staff photographer)
