Dennis Bishop (R) filed to run for the office of Polk County Sheriff last Friday. Bishop will join other Republicans, Nathan Shields and Gregg Osteen for a primary in May. Current Polk County Sheriff Donald Hill has also filed. Hill was appointed sheriff in 2008 and will be running his first election. So far, Hill has no democratic challengers for a primary.
