The Carolina Thunder Coffee Shop, which offers video/cyber sweepstakes gaming machines, on Hwy. 108 between Columbus and Mill Spring has received approval for a new sign permit. The current sign will be replaced with a smaller one. The business also has applied to Polk County for a conditional use permit to operate a coffee shop. The conditional usepermit will be considered at the Polk County Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting on March 16 at 4 p.m. in the Womack Building in Columbus.
