More snow forecasted Sunday night

After receiving a few inches of snow across the area Friday night, Polk County could see another round of winter weather&bsp;beginning tonight. The National Weather Service has issued the following winter weather advisory in effect through noon on Monday.A BAND OF SNOW IS EXPECTED TO CROSS THE REGION LATE TONIGHT… AND EXIT TO THE EAST BY EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON. BY THE TIME SNOW TAPERS OFF MONDAY AFTERNOON… ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. HEAVIER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF BUNCOMBE AND HENDERSON COUNTIES… AS WELL AS ALONG THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE BLUE RIDGE FROM BLOWING ROCK DOWN TO SALUDA. SOME OF THESE AREAS COULD BE UPGRADED TO A WINTER STORM WARNING EARLY MONDAY.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES… AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
