Phillip Timothy (Poppa) Hudson, 71, of Tryon passed away February 8, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Terrell and Alice McClure Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lillie Davis Hudson and their five children, Gina Covil (Geno), Diana Painter (Jimmy), James Hudson (Nancy), all of Mill Spring, Rita Jackson (Danny) of Tryon and Karen Ayers (David) of Landrum, and Brandon Hudson of Landrum. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Sherman, a sister, Mary Staton, a daughter, Brenda Bridges, a grandson, Brent Hudson and his beloved dog, Sam.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Petty Funeral Home. Services will be held at a later date.
The family is at the home of Karen Ayers, 119 Kirby St., Landrum.
