Carolina Community Chorus begins spring rehearsals

Rehearsals for the Carolina Community Choruss spring concerts begin on Monday, February 15. The chorus will again be conducted by Dr. Crys Armbrust, and rehearsals will be held in the Recital Hall at the Polk Campus of Isothermal College. Sign-up begins at 6 p.m., and rehearsal begins promptly at 7 p.m.

The upcoming April 23 and 25 concerts will feature a range of works from the choral repertory, including classical, popular and Broadway numbers. Selected composers include Ralph Vaughn Williams, Sir C. Hubert H. Parry, Randall Thompson, John Rutter and George Gershwin.

A highlight of this terms concerts, especially in view of Tryons 125th anniversary, will be Lucy Rhodes Woodmans Shades of Bucksome Hollow, a musical tribute to four Tryon Township women who had a profound development upon Woodmans early life and development here in our community. Woodman is the eldest daughter of Clarence and Ramona Rhodes.
