Valentines Day concert at FENCE

FENCE Family Concerts will present a special Valentines Day performance by soprano Patti Peake, accompanied by instrumentalists Joe and Kathleen Erwin, on Sunday, February 14 at 3 p.m. Please note the change in date and time from previously published materials.

Patti Peake is a well-known performer to area music lovers, who will soon be able to enjoy her appearance as Maria in the Tryon Little Theaters upcoming production of The Sound Of Music.

Born in Indianapolis, Peake holds a degree in vocal performance from Indianas DePauw University and has performed for Musicana Enterprises in Florida, South Carolina and Massachusetts. Locally, she regularly sings with the Tryon Community Chorus and has frequently joined with the Erwins for concert performances.

Joe and Kathleen Erwin are equally well-known to local audiences. Both are graduates of Julliard in New York, where they first met and were later married. Joe Erwin, an accomplished organist and pianist, recently retired after thirty years as organist for Tryon Congregational Church. Kathleen Erwin accompanies him on violin, and together they have presented a number of fundraising concerts for Isothermal Community College and Polk County High School.

The Valentines Day program will range from works by Leonard Bernstein to J.S. Bach and Johannes Brahms, as well as a traditional folk song with words and music written by Joe Erwin.

FENCE Family Concerts are offered free of charge with the support of the Kirby Endowment Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation.
