Landrum attorney arrested after disturbance at hospital

Landrum attorney Michael James Sarratt was arrested following a disturbance at Mary Black Hospital on Tuesday, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office reports that on January 19 at about 1:46 a.m. a deputy responded to a report of threats at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg County.
Upon arrival the deputy spoke to the victim and several witnesses who informed the deputy that Sarratt, 42, had caused a disturbance in the hospital and had made threats to physically assault the victim, says the sheriff’s office.
The victim was identified in the incident report as Jerald Bradford of Spartanburg, a nurse at the hospital. A complaint was filed by another Mary Black nurse.
Sarratt’s father, Bobby Sarratt was a patient at the hsopital at the time, according to the report.
Once the investigation was complete an arrest warrant on a single charge of Assault / Simple Common Law Assault No Battery was issued by Spartanburg County Magistrate Judge James Paslay.
Sarratt turned himself in early yesterday evening at the Spartanburg County Detention Center where he is currently incarcerated on a $1,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
