Local churches hold womens events

Congregational Church of Tryon

The Congregational Church of Tryons Womens Fellowship will hold its annual meeting and luncheon on Monday, January 18. Linda Campbell and her team will cater the luncheon. There will be voting on the 2010 slate of officers and approval of the 2010 budget. Back by popular demand is Janet Joens presenting another Name That Tune program which will include music from the 50s and 60s.

Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon, followed by the meeting and program. Reservations for lunch may be called in at the church office at 828-859-9414. All are welcome and encouraged to come. The snow date will be the following Monday, January 25, same place and time.

Wheat Creek Baptist Church

Wheat Creek Baptist Church in Rutherfordton is holding its annual womens conference, a three day event, beginning on Friday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. The guest minister on Friday will be evangelist Felicia Cureton from Victory Temple Bibleway Church in Rutherfordton.

On Saturday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. the guest minister will be prophetess Audrey Clark from Agape Ministries in Forest City. On this night, event organizers request that only women attend.

Services will conclude on Sunday, Jan. 24. The guest minister for the morning service will be evangelist Loretta Martin from Upper Room Outreach Ministry in Columbia, S.C. Sunday evening, beginning at 3 p.m., the guest minister will be Dr. Patricia Beason from Maybrys Temple Bibleway Church in Campobello.
