Polk County Public Library offers free computer classes

Starting in February, the PCPL will offer free computer classes at the Columbus location. Cindy Nanney, Reference and Adult Service Librarian, will conduct each class.

Class size is limited to twelve seats, so the library suggest that the public register in advance by calling the reference desk at 828-894-8721 extension 226. Each session requires a separate registration.

(Community Room)

Wed., Feb. 3: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or) Thurs., Feb. 4: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Ever wonder what all those terms mean? What is a CPU? What exactly is a mouse (other than the small furry type)? Many other questions answered. This class will meet in the library community room. Bring your questions and be prepared to learn.

Basic Internet (Computer Lab)

Wed., Feb. 10: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or) Thurs., Feb. 11: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Ever wonder where that Information Superhighway leads? Now you can find out. Learn how to navigate a web browser, learn how to explore the Polk County Public Librarys website, find information on a web page, and print a web page.

Using Gmail, you will sign up for a free email account. Learn how to check your mail, read, send, and reply to messages. Please note: attendees must not already have an email account to sign up for this class.
