Anne Watts Rogers

Anne Watts Rogers, 94, of 2934 Redland Road died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at her home.

Born in Sterling Grove, Penn., she was the daughter of the late Rev. William and Sarah McClane Watts. She was the widow of Henry Morgan Rogers Sr., who died in l996. Mrs. Rogers received her nursing degree from the Philadelphia General Hospital in 1939 and later graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She was the first ever graduate nurse at Charlotte Memorial Hospital Charlotte, N.C.&bsp; In 1964 she received a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology from Converse College, Spartanburg, S.C. Anne was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Spartanburg, S.C.

Surviving are: a daughter, Sarah R. Courson of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sons, James P. Rogers of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Henry, Morgan Rogers Jr. of Campobello and Dr. Andrew Rogers of Brevard, N.C. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Deb and William Watts, and one granddaughter.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
