Gospel music in Sunny View Friday night

To the Editor:

I hope that you will consider coming out to Sunny View School next Friday night, Jan. 15th at 7:30 for another wonderful evening of gospel music and prayer time for our troops. We have a wonderful evening planned, and I will bring my journal that I have kept since we started our Singing for the Soldier ministry. We received a lot of thank-you cards from all that we shipped out from our November singing at Saluda. &bsp;

God blessed our efforts and we were able to supply a lot of needs.

Again, the admission ticket is a bag of supplies that we can ship to Afghanistan and Iraq. The biggest request right now is Corn Huskers Lotion, hot cocoa mix, sunflower seeds, single-serving drink mixes and all the usual list of goodies.

When we started this ministry in 2006 my brother-in-law, Chaplain Michael McCawley, was stationed at Camp Speicher in Iraq and many of you will remember helping him start at coffeehouse for the soldiers there. &bsp;

Mike is now stationed at Walter-Reed Hospital and since he is in the area for some classes, he will get to join us as we gather to pray and hear some wonderful music from Mike Upright, who has had over 20 singles on the top 40 Gospel Music Charts, our own Green River Boys, and Soldiers For the Cross.

If you have any questions, please call me at 894-3442 and I look forward to seeing you in Sunny View next Friday night.
