Marilyn Bessent Talbot, 73, died, Friday, January 1, 2010 at her home surrounded by her children.&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp; .

Born in Little River, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mary Dell Gore Bessent and Homer Bessent.&bsp; She was the widow of Sam Talbot who died in 1986.&bsp; Sam and Marilyn were originally from Myrtle Beach prior to moving to Saluda, NC in the early 1980s.&bsp; She was preceded in death by her two brothers Don Bessent and Homer Bessent.

She is survived by one son, Kim Talbot; three daughters, Deena Talbot, Karla T. Ward and Allyn T. Johnson.&bsp; Also surviving are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A private celebration of her life was held by her children and friends on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at her home.
