Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series on Jan. 11

The Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will present its annual program featuring flute students from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts on Monday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Thomas Auditorium.

The program is entitled The French Flute, and will feature sonatas, suites, nocturnes, and other works by French composers for solo flute and piano, as well as flute quartet.

The young artists are graduate students of professor Dr. Tadeu Coelho. The flutists are Felipe Tristan, a native of Mexico; James Miller, from Greensboro, N.C.; Sara Newman, from Augusta, Ga.; and Megan Symanski, from Orlando, Fl. The piano accompanist is Paul Gillies, a UNCSA alumnus.
