The Tryon Garden Club has been working to restore the Depot Garden. With the help of the Polk County Community Foundation, Kirby Special Projects Fund for the Tryon Garden Club, the club has begun to place flowering plants in reconstructed beds and install a new planter seen in the picture above. Gretchen Morris, head of the Beautification Committee, has taken the lead on this project. In the days to come a new arch will also be installed at the North entrance to the garden. This is an ongoing project designed to offer the residents of Tryon a quiet place in the center of town. (photo submitted)
