The Friends of Harmon Field received a grant for $5,000 from the Harmon Foundation. The money was placed in the unrestricted fund, but will be used for capital improvements at Harmon Field.
Some of the current needs at Harmon Field include resurfacing of the tennis courts, new mulch at the playground, and a covering for the picnic tables in front of the concession stand.
Friends of Harmon Field received their nonprofit status in May of this year and are able to give tax-deductible receipts for donations.
The Board of Directors has set up five categories in which donations may be placed for Harmon Field. Those are: 1) Unrestricted fund; 2) Recreation program scholarships; 3) Capital improvements; 4) Landscaping; 5) Special events.
