Cut your cigarette costs in half

To the Editor:
Heres how to cut your cigarette costs in half (with the least suffering). Two years before I gave up smoking, I went to St. Lukes classes for some. Here are some of the tricks that helped me.
1. Never sit in some chair you have been sitting in to watch TV, move chairs around. When you do sit down, have a box of licorice candy or something chewy always at hand. Turn on TV and tell yourself you are going to have a cigarette in 10 or 15 minutes, after a piece of chewy candy (when you come in, put your cigs in a dresser drawer). After you have your piece of candy, smoke. Go get a cig and smoke.
Each day you do this it will be easier to wait 15 to 20 minutes for a smoke. If you cheat on yourself, dont worry. Be patient with yourself. Just go back and try again. You will start to enjoy 10 to 12 cigs a day.
After a while, I finally put my cigs in the medicine cabinet. That helped even more.
Good luck.
