Bill Richardson, a resident of LaurelWoods Assisted Living, walks certified therapy dog, Lake, as part of Walk the Dog, a new pet therapy program at LaurelWoods. Bobbie Levin is the owner who brings Lake to visit residents and to encourage them to take him for a walk. Donna Simpson, Activities Director, read an article about how therapeutic the simple act of walking a dog can be for seniors. It provides an opportunity for residents to go outdoors and is great exercise for everyone involved, including the dog. Levin and Lake were trained and certified through the program, Pet Pals, which was held at LaurelWoods. (photo submitted)
