News brief: Troopers targeting speeders over holiday

North Carolina and South Carolina highway patrol troopers will be targetting speeders and aggressive drivers over the holiday weekend on interstates and major four lane highways. The N.C. Highway Patrol began Operation Slow Down began on Monday, Nov. 16 and will end on Sunday, Nov. 29. The state says 25 motorists were killed and 1,870 were injured on North Carolina highways during the holiday period last year. In South Carolina, more troopers will be on the interstates and main roadways. Last year there were 13 fatal collisions and 14 motorists killed over the Thanksgiving holiday period.
