Tryon Concert Association to present pianist Jon Kimura Parker

On Tuesday, December 1, at 8 p.m. the Tryon Concert Association will present pianist Jon Kimura Parker at the Tryon Fine Arts Center.

This artist hails from Canada where he received most of his musical training. He received his doctorate at the Juilliard School in New York. He is internationally known, having performed around the world for royalty and national dignitaries.&bsp; He has appeared as a guest soloist with orchestras across the globe and throughout the United States.

He is committed to educating young musicians and has given master classes at numerous summer music festivals. Very recently he held these classes at the Brevard Music Center.

Parker is Professor of Piano at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, where he lives with his violinist wife, Aloysia Friedmann and their daughter, Sophie.
