At this weekends Fishing tournament on Lake Adger, Ken and Beverly Bailey caught a 44″ Muskie in Jackson Cove. the Baileys belong to the Western North Carolina Muskie club where catch and release is strictly practiced. After the judges boat measured the winning muskie the fish was released and swam away. Beverly said that the fish was caught for Brandon Horne, as they knew him from the Muskie club which he was a member.
Ken also told me that they saw a 8 point and a 10 buck swimming across Jackson Cove as they were fishing.
In the bass part of the tournament Coltan Edwards age 11 from Mill Springs caught one large mouth and two white bass, the total weight of the 3 was 3 lbs and 11 oz. Coltans father, Tim Edwards was proud of his son for getting that win!
The money being raised will purchase a fireboat for the residents of Lake Adger. Next years tournament is going to be in the spring instead, so watch out for it and help the Mill Spring Fire Volunteer Department purchase the needed fireboat.
