Second Explore the Arts event at TFAC Thursday

Published 4:43 pm Tuesday, November 17, 2009

On Thursday, November 19, the second program in the Explore the Arts series at the Tryon Fine Arts Center will Explore The Writers World. What happens to your book or poem or essay once youve written it? Do you know if anyone will publish it? Buy it? Read it? Is it worth the effort? Why write?

The Hub City Writers Project in Spartanburg is a nonprofit organization which encourages area writers. Betsy Teter, Executive Director, will talk about the programs and events they sponsor for writers.

Norm Powers, familiar community leader for FENCE, St. Lukes Foundation, Hospice and more, wears his other hat Thursday as he talks about his writing career and reads from his next novel, a work in progress.

Copies of Norms book, End Credits, will be available for his signing. Betsy Goree, owner of The Book Shelf, will offer books and guidance as a book seller and advocate for our local writers.

Come Explore the Writers World at TFAC from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the program and refreshments.
