Polk tennis gets past Bearcats; Collins finishes as WHC co-champ

The Lady Wolverines tennis team picked up a win at the end of the regular season over Hendersonville, and Polks Julia Collins went on to finish as the conference co-champion and advance to the state regional playoffs.

Collins advanced to Regionals as Co-Conference Champion for the 2A Western Highlands Conference. The team record for Collins this season was 12-0.

Polk County played Hendersonville on October 13 and earned an overall win of 5-4. &bsp;

Winners in singles play included Natalie Hilbig 10-5, Julia Collins 10-7, Jessica Pullara 10-5, Rachel Vining 10-6. In double play, the team of Hilbig/Collins won 8-1.

On Oct. 14, Polk fell to Owen 2-7. Winners in singles were Julia Collins 8-4 and Elizabeth Norville 8-5.
