‘Do-it-yourself Messiah’ at TFAC

The “dynamic duo” is at it again. Jan Impey and Pam McNeil are planning to direct and accompany Handels “Messiah” at the Tryon Fine Arts Center Thursday evening, December 3, at 7:30 p.m.
If you love Handels “Messiah” and have sung it or parts of it and want the chance to sing it again, then join them at the Fine Arts Center.
Impey, McNeil, soloists, reader and instrumentalists will be on stage and the auditorium will be divided into sections for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses as the chorus members for this oritorio.
With no rehearsal planned, all soloists and choristers will sing the major parts of the Christmas section of the “Messiah” leading up to the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
The inspiration of Handels genius surely is the setting for a memorable C. The community is invited to be a part of this preparatory event no matter how recently you have sung this work.
There is no admission charge, non-singers are encouraged to come and listen. Copies of the complete “Messiah” are available for all singers.
