The sisters of the late Fairy and Minnie Laughter, of Sunny View, recently gathered at the Polk County Recreation Complex for a picnic after deciding to get together following a funeral of one of their three brothers recently.

Pauline Stewart, 78, Betty Jackson, 75, Dorothy Noblitt, 74, Arrie Mills, 69, Alma Laughter, 64, Anne Murphy, 62 and Marie McEntyre, 58,&bsp; say they had a great time at their picnic and still enjoy each other&squo;s company.

Their brothers, Joe, James and Leroy have all passed.

All the sisters except three still live in Polk County and the rest live in nearby counties. Laughter lives in Edneyville in Henderson County, Murphy lives in Troutman in Iredell County and McEntyre lives in Shinngle Hollow in Rutherford County.

Fairy and Minnie Laughter had 10 children who they raised in Sunny View and also six infants who died. They also had 34 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren prior to their deaths in 1978 and 1969 respectively.

The Laughter sisters say they plan to continue keeping close relationships and &dquo;cutting up&dquo; as often as possible.
