Tryon Town Manager Justin Hembree announced that Crys Armbrust was hired as the part-time Business & Tourism Development Coordinator for the Town of Tryon.

Armbrust started work on August 18, 2009 when the position title and description were formally approved by the Tryon Board of Commissioners. &bsp;

The Town of Tryon, the Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) and the Tryon Tourism Development Authority are each contributing funding for this part-time position. &bsp;

Armbrust will assist the Town with grant applications and grant administration tasks. &bsp;

He will work with the TDDA through the 4-point Main Street Program approach to revitalizing Tryon&squo;s downtown through organization, design, promotion and economic restructuring. &bsp;

His work with the Tourism Authority will include tourism website management, creative writing, publicity, and event and festival planning. &bsp;

Hembree stated that &dquo;Crys&squo; strong organizational and networking skills combined with his familiarity with local leaders and issues and his active participation in local organizations will make him a valuable addition to the Town of Tryon&squo;s administrative team.&dquo;
