al attorney and another man were dismissed yesterday in court.

Scott Sheffron, 42, a Hendersonville attorney who lives in Columbus, and Michael Burnside, 33, of Arden were&bsp; involved in an incident in which Burnside allegedly flicked a cigarette at Sheffron&squo;s car and came at him in a threatening manner and Sheffron allegedly pulled a gun on Burnside. The incident occurred on Aug. 4 in the parking lot of Miller&squo;s Dry Cleaning in Hendersonville.

Sheffron was charged with misdemeanor assault and Burnside was charged with simple assault and communicating threats.

The district attorney from Cleveland and Lincoln counties examined the cases and decided to dismiss all the charges Tuesday morning.

Special prosecutor Richard Shaffer said that he dismissed the charges against Burnside because there was no evidence to support that Burnside had committed any assault against Sheffron.

Burnside said he had no problem with the charges against Sheffron being dismissed as well. He reportedly said if he had to do it over again, he would handle the situation differently and would ignore Sheffron.

Sheffron denied any wrongdoing in the incident.
