Jim Carson, from Saluda , will be the featured artist at Heartwood Gallery on Main Street in Saluda from Oct.1 – Dec.31.

A reception to meet the artist will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, from 6-8 p.m.

Jim is a full time plein air artist, who paints the western N.C. landscape four seasons of the year.

Jim&squo;s work is in corporate and personal galleries throughout the United States. He says his goal in his paintings is to simplify the landscape and to have a fresh and painterly result, which is completed on location.

The Heartwood show will contain scenes located in both Polk and Henderson counties.
