Tryon’s public input sessions for strategic plan start Monday

Tryon Town Council approved a timetable for development of the strategic plan at their meeting on August 18. The plan development process began in August and will continue until plan implementation in July 2010. &bsp;

In order to better understand the long-term vision of town residents, extensive data collection will be conducted from online and paper surveys. &bsp;

Town boards and advisory committees will also be asked to provide input.&bsp; Citizens may access the on-line survey through the town&squo;s website (www.tryon-nc.com) and may pick up paper surveys at town hall.

The town also will be holding facilitated public input sessions next week on September 28, 29, and 30.&bsp; Citizens are urged to stop by and speak, face-to-face, with members of the town&squo;s executive staff about community needs and recommendations for the five-year strategic plan. &bsp;

Sessions will be held at the Tryon Fire Department based on the following schedule:

&ull; Monday, September 28 ‐ noon until 4 p.m.

&ull; Tuesday, September 29 ‐ 8 a.m. until noon

&ull; Wednesday, September 30 ‐ 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Citizens are encouraged to participate in this important process.&bsp; Town officials say it is essential that all voices are heard in order to allow for the development a strategic plan that truly addresses the desires of the community. &bsp;
