Future U.N.C. Tar Heels, Clemson University Tigers, University of Florida Gators, Georgia Bull Dogs, Tennessee Volunteers and Appalachian State Mountaineers were present at Polk Central during the school&squo;s College Colors Day celebration on Friday, Sept.4.

Students and staff wore their favorite college colors as part of the annual celebration of collegiate traditions and spirit designed to promote an awareness of higher education. &bsp;

The annual event is celebrated nationally and coincides with the beginning of the collegiate football season as well as the beginning of a new school year.

Principal Dottie M. Kinlaw and her staff say they believe the event is a positive way to celebrate higher education because it is never too early for students to start thinking about their educational future and goals.
