Polk County football’s Border Showcase Classic at Crest Friday night

Max Preps lists Byrnes as the #2 ranked high school team in the country. In addition, Byrnes running back Marcus Lattimore, who The Sporting News tabs as the nation&squo;s top high school recruit and who is the national junior player of the year, headlines a very talented group of players and teams that will appear.
&dquo;Once again our Showcase will feature some of the best high school football talent from area programs in North and South Carolina at one of the premier football jamborees in the South while giving us a tremendous opportunity to promote high school football,&dquo; says Polk County High School Coach Bruce Ollis. Local fans will be given the rare chance to see teams they don&squo;t normally have an opportunity to witness all in one location.&dquo;
Each of the teams will play for one half against their opponent from the &dquo;other&dquo; Carolina. The match-ups are: at 7 p.m. Polk County vs. Spartanburg, at 8 p.m. Shelby vs. Byrnes and at 9 p.m. Crest vs. Gaffney.
