Thomas Alton Warren Sr.

Born and raised in Thomas County, Georgia, Tom was the son of the late Roscoe and Willie Mae Warren. Tom&bsp; moved to Tryon with his wife and four sons in 1978, taking a job at Simkins Industries in Landrum ‐ retiring in 2006. He also currently owned and operated a family printing business-Tryon Printers ‐ having been in the printing industry 50+ years. Tom was well known in the community as an elder and minister of the local Columbus Congregation of Jehovah&squo;s Witnesses.

Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jean Warren of the home; four sons, Tom&bsp; Warren Jr. and wife Marlena of Columbus, James Warren and wife Renee of Landrum, Scott Warren and wife Tammy of Tryon, and Jeff Warren and wife Sarah of Charlotte. &bsp;

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Thomas A. Warren III ‐ &dquo;Trey&dquo; and Brandon of Columbus, Kayla and Colby Warren of Landrum, Meghan and Taylor Warren of Tryon, Madison Bayer and Anna Warren of Charlotte; Three brothers, Gaylen Warren, Darrel (Wynona) Warren and Roger Warren, all of Georgia; Four sisters, Frances Wilkes, Dorothy S. (Bill) West, Cinda (Melvin) Mercer, Linda (Pete) Matthews all of Georgia. Tom is also survived by nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Roscoe Warren Jr.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening, July 29, 2009&bsp; at 7 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah&squo;s Witnesses, 2971 Skyuka Road, Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbus Congregation of Jehovah&squo;s Witnesses.
