Robert Worsnop

He was born in Utica, N.Y., and was the son of Arthur and Lillie Worsnop. He attended Samuel J. Tilden High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific in World War II and graduated in 1950 with an MBA in economics from Cornell University. He worked in finance for Ford Motor Company and Rockwell International. He was active in Kiwanis, Polk Vocational Services and various other local charitable organizations. He was instrumental in the Polk County Courthouse Restoration project. He was a member of the Thermal Belt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Tryon.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Worsnop, two sons, Douglas Worsnop of Lexington, Mass.; Gregory Worsnop of Paw Paw, Mich.; two daughters, Dana Worsnop of Milwaukie, Ore.; and Pamela Gleeson of Napa, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Tryon Estates, Columbus.
