The cases of former Polk County Sheriff Officers Josh Denton and Derrick Twitty were continued yesterday during Polk County Superior Court.

The former officers have been charged with assault on a female after they were accused of excessive tasering of a woman last October. The officers worked under former sheriff Chris Abril and were not rehired by current sheriff Donald Hill, who was appointed last year.

The cases were continued until next Wednesday, July 17 in Polk County District Court.
