Katherene Greene Troxler

Born May 17, 1920 in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late C. C. and Nancy Bryant Greene. She was a graduate of the Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Troxler worked until retirement at hospitals in N.C., S.C., Va., and Ga. as an RN and a private duty nurse. She also worked as an industrial plant nurse at GE Corporation in Hendersonville, N.C. She was a former member of the Tryon First Baptist where she was active in the WMU. She loved cooking, gardening, and she served as the president of the Garden Club in Atlanta where she located all of the Historic Bluestar Markers.&bsp; Mrs. Troxler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stuart, Fla., where she was active in her Sunday school class. She was a talented seamstress, master gardener and loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Brown and Mary Troxler, both of Inman, S.C.; one son; Dan Troxler of Longview, Wash.; one granddaughter; Jennifer Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Charles Greene of Inman, S.C.; and one sister, Virginia Abrams of Rock Hill, S.C.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Rev. Allen McKinney officiating.
Burial was in Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Creek.
