LHS senior wins state art contest, takes fifth in nation

Kansas will receive scholarship money totaling $800 for her winning entry. The art work will be on display at the Ladies Auxiliary National convention during the month of August. A photograph of Kansas&squo; &dquo;Texture of War&dquo; will run in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Magazine. By July 1, the top eight winning entries will be available for viewing on the Ladies Auxiliary website at www.ladiesauxvfw.org.
Landrum High School art teacher Cathey Stoney had this to say about her student, &dquo;We are all very proud of Kansas. She created a meaningful art work with a profound statement that was highly original. I am not surprised that the work did so well.&bsp; Kansas works very hard and sets high standards for herself in all her high school endeavors. I wish her the best as she begins her college life at North Greenville University.&dquo;
