Blue Ridge Barbecue Festival still needs volunteers

&dquo;It always gets a little scary this time of year,&dquo; says Christa Klovach, Volunteer Coordinator for the Blue Ridge Barbecue & Music Festival. &dquo;We have so many spots for volunteers and it never seems we&squo;ll get enough‐but it always seems to work out.&dquo;

The Festival is right around the corner, June 12 and 13. If you are one of those people who have waited until the last minute to decide if you want to help, now is the time. Please call the Festival office at 859-7427 or visit the website at www.BlueRidgeBBQFestival.com to get an application.

According to Klovach there is a variety of jobs and shift times still available on both Friday and Saturday:

Ice Delivery; Beer/wine sales; Soft drink/water sales; Bingo; Admission/ticket sales; Tram host/hostesses; Parking; Recycling; Food Tent.

Times both days for above duties at 9:30 a.m.‐ 2 p.m. / 1:30 p.m.‐ 6 p.m. / 5:30‐11 p.m.

We also need help for the following: Set-up – Thurs., 8:30 a.m. ‐ 12:30 p.m. / 12:30pm‐4:30pm / 4:30‐8:30pm; Clean-up – Sun., 8:30 a.m. ‐ 3 p.m.

Volunteers receive free festival admission both days, free t-shirt, free food and free bottled water, plus the satisfaction of knowing they&squo;re doing something really good for the community.

The Festival runs from 10 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $6.00 per person, and there is no charge for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult. There is a two-for-one discount for seniors on Friday until 4 pm, and special rates are available for groups of 20 or more either day.&bsp; Kids enjoy unlimited rides on Friday until 5 pm for only $10.

The Blue Ridge Barbecue & Music Festival is conducted annually under the auspices of the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the Festival help support Chamber operations and all additional proceeds go to the Carolina Foothills Chamber Foundation to be returned to the community through distributions to a variety of programs and projects throughout the county.
