Cardinal track claims another region crown

It was the tenth consecutive regional title for the women, while the men have now won eight in a row.

The women finished with a total of 268 points, while the men tallied 250. Both totals were more than 165 points higher than the second place teams.

Cardinal Kenneth Human was named Regional Runner of the Year, as he contributed 40 points on the afternoon by sweeping the 800-, 1600-, and 3200-meter events.

Landrum&squo;s Caroline Cann shared the female MVP with Eppy Dendy of Southside Christian. They earned 38 points each for their respective schools.

Other all-region performances were turned in by Tyler Logan, winner of three individual events; Kendal Cash, who won two; and Sierra Wedde, Kelly Mullins, Cole McDowell, Addie LaPan, and Ashley Peace, who each won one event.

Landrum will also host the Upper State meet, which is scheduled for May 9 at 11 a.m.
