Orphia R. Covil

She was a native of Transylvania County and the daughter of the late Epton and Margaret Robinson. She was the widow of Richard Earl Covil, who passed away in 1956. Mrs. Covil was a retired factory worker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Tryon.

Surviving are three sons: Charles (Norma) Covil of Columbus; Arthur (Linda) Covil of Pea Ridge: Hugh Covil of Columbus. Also surviving are two sisters, Dollie Williams of Columbus and Mrs. Lois Burr of Baltimore, MD. Two step-children, Evelyn Chapman and Carroll Covil. Mrs. Covil is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Winnie Whitmire and Dorothy Query and four brothers, Wade, Lee, Ervin and Roy Robinson, five step-children and a grandson, Jody Covil and a great grandson, Johnny Palasek.

The family will be at the home of Arthur and Linda Covil (Pea Ridge Community), 2270 Abrams and Moore Road, Rutherfordton, N.C. 28139.

There will be a graveside service May 2, 2009 at 4 p.m. in Polk Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolinas or to your favorite charity.
