As part of the recent &uot;Week of the Horse&uot; celebration that coincided with Steeplechase, the Coach House in Landrum showcased the work of local equestrian photographer Erik Olsen and well known local artist Joan McIntyre.

McIntyre, who is internationally famous, has done five Block House posters in recent years and her work is always in demand. Her latest painting, &uot;The Road to Appleby Fair,&uot; is scheduled to be shown at the Draft and Carriage Horse Invitational on Mackinac Island, Michigan in July. &bsp;

Olsen&squo;s work will continue to be featured at the Coach House, located in downtown Landrum. He has produced fine art prints of fox hunting, Blockhouse Steeplechase races and various other equine photography

A native of Germany, Olsen began learning about photography at a very early age. His father often allowed Olsen to play with his still and home movie cameras.&bsp; Over the years, he continued as an amateur photographer until making the decision to&bsp; transform his expertise into a business.

Olsen says he is blessed to follow his given passion and pursue what he loves for a living, Horse Sports Photography.&bsp; Illustrating the bond between horse and rider is as authentic as it is powerful, he says.

He has been the official photographer for the Block House Steeplechase, and takes photos at numerous other equestrian events in the area.
