Market Place: Body cleansing program, ice cream store new in area

Tomasin Marshall has begun offering Isagenix Cleansing and Nutritional Programs in the area.

Marshall says Isagenix products address nutritional deficiencies and toxicity, such as the insecticides, pesticides, hormones, steroids and antibiotics, chemicals, metals, bacteria and parasites making their way into our foods. Furthermore, says Marshall, fresh fruits and vegetables have only 40 percent of the nutritional value they had 50 years ago. Many foods are &dquo; synthetically fortified&dquo; with vitamins and minerals for this reason.

The Isagenix Cleansing and Fat Burning System is designed to help remove the impurities and release unwanted weight through nutritional cleansing and meal replacement shakes with high quality nutrients. Along with a nutrient rich diet and exercise, Marshall says, cleansing is the missing link that helps you release toxins that are stored in the body. The side effects of a healthy body include weight loss, more energy, better sleep, healthy skin, hair and nails and regulation of hormones.

Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU) announces the addition of two members to its Southern Mountain Advisory Council, which includes Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford and Transylvania counties.

The new appointments are Judy Griffin, Brevard Housing Authority housing manager, and Stefan Stackhouse, Town of Montreat finance officer.

The new appointments are an integral part of LGFCU&squo;s volunteer-driven initiative not only to educate people on the benefits of credit union membership, but also to relay feedback to management regarding available/potentially available products and services, delivery of service and member needs.

Advisory council members, who represent the philosophical character of the Credit Union and contribute their time without compensation, function as LGFCU&squo;s eyes and ears throughout the state, serving as liaisons between credit union members and non-members and LGFCU management.

Pardee OB/GYN Associates is now offering the Essure procedure for permanent birth control. &bsp;

Essure is different from the traditional method of a surgical tubal ligation because there is no cutting or burning of the body.&bsp; Spring-like coils are inserted through the body&squo;s natural pathways and into the fallopian tubes.&bsp; The body and the coils create a tissue barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the egg. &bsp;

&dquo;Women who have the Essure procedure tend to recover very quickly and are often back to work the next day,&dquo; said Maridee Spearman,&bsp; M.D., OB/GYN with Pardee OB/GYN Associates.&bsp; &dquo;Essure can be done in the operating room or in the office. It&squo;s a very effective method of closing the fallopian tubes that requires minimal anesthesia.&dquo;
