Dr. Daniel was born November 7, 1935 in Spindale, where he lived most of his life. He was a son of the late Collett Frank and Mary Ruth Griffin Daniel. Dr. Daniel was a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He had a general dental practice in Asheville for many years. After retiring he worked as a veterinary dentist in several western North Carolina communities.

Throughout his life Dr. Daniel played tennis and supported tennis programs for children and adults.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Kerr Daniel; daughters, Fori Kay, Noel VanLandingham and Julie Duval; brother, James Trammel; his wife&squo;s children, Daniel, Brian, Michael and Melissa Kerr; their 14 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was held Sunday in Tryon. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Thermal Belt Community Tennis Association, 106 Chestnut Rd., Landrum, S.C. 29356.
